BREAKING: Arsenal Set to Secure Star Striker to Strengthen Attack, Details in a glance.

Emmanuel Petit calls on Arsenal to pursue Viktor Gyokeres.

During the summer transfer window, Arsenal had significant ties to a number of forwards, but they were eventually unable to sign a new striker. Raheem Sterling entered on a last-minute loan, Mikel Merino joined the midfield, and Mikel Raya and Riccardo Calafiori strengthened the defense as part of Mikel Arteta’s active squad.

There has been talk of Florian Wirtz as a possible improvement, and rumors regarding new attacking signings are persistent. Emmanuel Petit, a former midfielder for Arsenal, thinks the team should concentrate on bolstering their front line. He advises putting off interest in Ollie Watkins, an England striker, in favor of Sporting Lisbon’s in-form Viktor Gyokeres.

In an interview with TVKampen, Petit said, “I watched Viktor Gyokeres in the Champions League, and he performed exceptionally well.” His value has increased to nearly £50 million with his new contract, capping an incredible climb since joining Sporting. Even if 28-year-old Ollie Watkins is excelling at Aston Villa, I would much rather see Arsenal chase Gyokeres.

Watkins is a terrific player and a problem for defenders, but Petit pointed out that his potential price tag is close to £100 million. Gyokeres, who cost €20 million to move from Coventry City to Sporting, had an incredible debut season, tallying 43 goals in 50 games.

With 11 goals in just eight games this season, his stellar play has continued. FourFourTwo believes that Gyokeres is the better option if Watkins and Gyokeres are compared at the values that Petit has proposed. The two-year-old Swedish international, who Transfermarkt values at €65 million, has a lot of potential considering how quickly he has improved over the last 12 months. Watkins is a successful Premier League scorer, but Gyokeres has strong English football experience and seems to be headed upward.
