No Chelsea fan could have predicted the tremendous buying spree that has taken place at Stamford Bridge in recent years. Todd Boehly, the 50-year-old American owner who succeeded Roman Abramovich in 2022, has opened the club’s checkbook in an effort to bolster the squad.
Boehly has spent more over £1.1 billion on new signings, avoiding any FFP or PSR infractions while bringing in top quality. Cole Palmer from Manchester City has been a standout addition, scoring 33 goals in the Premier League last season to become the competition’s most productive player.
Another talented young player is yet to find his footing at Chelsea, as his tenure with the club has been hampered by ongoing injury issues.
