BREAKING: Florida WR Commit Downplays Week 1 Loss, Details of What’s Really Behind the Calm.

Joshua Moore, a wide receiver from Pembroke Pines, Florida, remains committed to the Florida Gators despite the team’s Week 1 loss to the Miami Hurricanes.

While the loss has been difficult for fans and some media, Moore, who is deeply loyal to the Gators, remains unaffected. He reaffirmed his commitment to Florida in a recent interview with Blake Alderman of 247Sports, saying, “I’m still 100% a Gator man. Everything remains the same after the loss. “I’m committed, and that’s it.

Moore, who was also courted by Florida State and Miami this summer, prioritizes the coaching staff over current on-field performance. “Billy Gonzalez is the key,” Moore stated. “Each team has ups and downs. This is only a little setback on the road to a tremendous return.”

Moore, who is 6-foot-4, would be the tallest receiver on the Florida team if he were a year older. While the Gators have shown off long throw plays with Elijah Badger, Moore might fill that position as a freshman next season.

Moore also observed his future quarterback, DJ Lagway, making his Swamp debut, which may have strengthened his resolve to stay committed.

However, Florida will need to remain alert as Miami continues to pursue Moore and take advantage of his proximity in South Florida. Moore plans to visit Florida, Florida State, and Miami this season.

Recruiting summary

Moore is a four-star recruit according to both the On3 industry ranking and the 247Sports composite, while the standalone rankings from 247Sports are significantly less favorable. On3, he is ranked 139th overall and 19th among receivers in the 2025 class, while 247Sports ranks him 173rd and 17th, respectively.

The On3 recruiting prediction algorithm gives Florida a 97.0% chance of signing Moore, while Miami and Florida State lag well behind at 1.4% and 1.2%, respectively.
