However, the club also saw Sam Johnstone leave for Wolverhampton Wanderers in a move worth around £10 million. Despite interest from Premier League and overseas clubs, Crystal Palace have stated that Jean-Philippe Mateta is not for sale.

In accordance with report, Crystal Palace is set to resume contract talks with the 27-year-old forward. Mateta’s status has increased dramatically thanks to his outstanding performance last season, when he scored 19 goals and provided five assists in 39 matches, propelling his team to a 10th-place finish in the league.

Besides contributing to his club achievements, Mateta made headlines this summer by helping France win silver in the Olympics. He has started both of Crystal Palace’s Premier League games this season, but has not scored or assisted.

Manager Oliver Glasner, who is reputedly a Mateta supporter, is eager to keep the striker despite interest from other European clubs. Mateta’s current contract is slated to expire in 2026, and the club is anxious to extend it and grant him a wage boost to match his elevated status and achievements.
