BREAKING: 2025 Four-Super Star QB Stuns Clemson, Switches Commitment to Notre Dame in a Surprising Move”

In an unexpected turn of events, 2025 four-star quarterback Blake Hebert has switched his pledge from Clemson to Notre Dame. On Monday evening, Hebert made the revelation on social media, thanking Clemson before explaining his intention to move on. “I want to thank the Clemson coaching staff and the program for everything they’ve done,” Hebert said in a statement uploaded to X (previously Twitter). “However, I’ve decided to decommit and will spend my remaining four years at another college. Just moments later, Hebert shared a graphic declaring his pledge to Notre Dame. The Connecticut-based Brunswick School standout had initially committed to Clemson in June 2023, but has now decided to join the Fighting Irish, who recently lost their longterm 2025 quarterback commit, Deuce Knight, to Auburn in early October. With early signing day for the 2025 class approaching on December 4th, Notre Dame urgently needed a replacement, and Hebert has filled that duty. Two of Hebert’s high school teammates, four-star offensive tackle Matty Augustine and four-star safety Ethan Long, have already committed to Notre Dame, making the Irish an intriguing option.

Hebert, ranked as the No. 3 player in Connecticut and the No. 17 pro-style quarterback in his class, received offers from Penn State, North Carolina, Iowa, and other teams. Notre Dame’s 2025 class already has 23 players, raising the program’s national ranking to 13th. Meanwhile, Clemson’s class has shrunk to 13 commitments, dropping their national ranking to 31st as they deal with the departure of one of their key prospects.
