BREAKING: Arsenal and Chelsea Close in on £58m Brazilian Full-Back, with Barcelona and Real Madrid Circling.

JP Chermont, a full-back for Santos, is reportedly being chased by Arsenal and Chelsea. The Brazilian team is apparently prepared to let him go for a sum less than his £58 million release clause. According to reports from Caught Offside, Santos, who are struggling financially following their relegation, may be forced to sell, therefore both Premier League heavyweights are reportedly making great progress in their pursuit of the teenage defender.

Teenage phenom JP Chermont at Santos has drawn interest from a number of European teams, with Arsenal and Chelsea paying particular attention to his progress. Santos is now open to a cheaper offer, thus both teams are in the running despite Chelsea’s inability to satisfy the release clause and their summertime interest a stronger position to make their moves

Arsenal is looking for young players who can start right away, but they’ll also probably evaluate whether Chermont can meet their tactical requirements. The Brazilian superstar has potential, and Chelsea, who is notorious for investing in young talent, agrees. Compared to other teams, both London clubs are presently the closest to coming to a deal with Santos.

Real Madrid and Barcelona, meanwhile, have been keeping an eye on the situation from the sidelines and may join the race at a later time. Tottenham has not yet made a significant move despite expressing interest early in the year. Santos will ultimately set the price, and Arsenal and Chelsea’s next moves might be based on their ability to agree on a fair price for the very potential but unproven full-back.
