BREAKING: Top-Rated 5 star Recruit Shocks at Auburn with Harsh Reality After Outsmarting Six SEC Programs

Caleb Cunningham’s passion for Auburn waned during his official visit this weekend. The five-star wide receiver prospect was dissatisfied by the Tigers’ abysmal performance in their Saturday loss and did not mince words in his scathing assessment of the program’s current status. Winning over Cunningham will be difficult, but head coach Hugh Freeze and his team are determined to succeed.

Winning over Cunningham will be difficult, but head coach Hugh Freeze and his team are determined to succeed. Cunningham, one of the top three wide receivers in the Class of 2025 and a top-25 prospect overall, has 26 offers from elite institutions around the country, including Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Texas, USC, and Oregon. Any team would gladly welcome him.

Notwithstanding the fierce competition, the Mississippi native committed to Alabama in July after keeping six SEC institutions guessing during a hectic recruiting season. While Cunningham appears to be strongly committed to the Crimson Tide, several programs, including Auburn, are still attempting to sway him away from Tuscaloosa.

Auburn wants Caleb Cunningham

The Mississippi native, Caleb Cunningham, pledged his commitment to Alabama in July after keeping six different SEC programs on their toes throughout a whirlwind recruitment process.

Though he currently seems firmly aligned with the Crimson Tide, a few schools are still making efforts to change his mind, with Auburn leading the charge.

Auburn is determined to land Cunningham, and head coach Hugh Freeze, wide receivers coach Marcus Davis, and offensive coordinator Derrick Nix—who has a strong recruiting reputation and deep connections in Mississippi—are working hard to change his mind before the Early Signing Period in December. Cunningham was brought to campus this past weekend.

Unfortunately, the visit did not proceed as anticipated. The Tigers struggled on the field, failing to score in the first half and eventually losing to the Arkansas Razorbacks by ten points. Payton Thorne replaced starting quarterback Hank Brown, who had been benched the week before. They tossed four interceptions, gained less than 300 passing yards, and had a 57% completion percentage. Cunningham was definitely displeased with Auburn’s performance.
