Despite his spectacular performance in Manchester United’s 7-0 victory against Barnsley, Erik ten Hag is unsure whether Alejandro Garnacho will make the starting lineup against Crystal Palace. Garnacho, who scored twice and assisted twice in the Carabao Cup third-round game, now has four goals and three assists in only two starts this season.
While Amad Diallo and Marcus Rashford have been Ten Hag’s favored starting so far, Garnacho has largely appeared as a substitute, including matches against Fulham, Brighton, and Southampton. Ten Hag confronts difficult team decisions with Amad and Rashford in strong form, as well as Antony making an impact with a penalty against Barnsley.
The manager underlined the importance of rotation and noted that a player’s removal from the starting lineup does not necessarily imply a decline in their status. Ten Hag also praised Manuel Ugarte’s performance in his debut start after signing from PSG, highlighting his ability to improve the squad.
