Dallas Wilson, a five-star wide receiver committed to Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning, will visit the Florida Gators for their season opener versus the Miami Hurricanes. On January 17, 2023, Wilson, a native of Tampa, Florida, became the first member of Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class with his verbal commitment. Regardless of his promise, Wilson has stated that he will be in Gainesville on August 31 for Florida’s highly anticipated Week 1 game versus Miami.
Wilson, ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver prospect in the nation by 247Sports, is in great demand. It’s no surprise that Florida Gators coach Billy Napier and others have continued to recruit him, and Wilson is certain to return to the Swamp in the future. “I think I’ll return to Florida for an official visit,” Wilson told On3. Wilson has not announced any plans to visit Oregon this season, but he is expected to visit Tallahassee and meet with Florida State coach Mike Norvell on November 29. The Seminoles will host the Gators during rivalry week on November 30.
Wilson has not wavered in his verbal commitment to Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning and wide receiver coach Junior Adams, even going to Eugene for an official visit on June 21. Over the summer, Wilson paid visits to Miami Hurricanes coach Mario Cristobal and the Florida Gators. Despite reports of a possible decommitment, Wilson reiterated his commitment to Oregon by sharing a video on social media, saying, “It’s been my dream school since forever.” It has been my dream school since I can remember. Coach Lanning just made it tenfold better. Excellent support system; they adore you as a person.
Proximity has frequently posed a difficulty in attracting possibilities to Eugene, but Lanning and his team have successfully recruited across the nation. Wilson is joined in Oregon’s 2025 recruiting class by five-star wide receiver Dakorien Moore of Duncanville, Texas, and five-star safety Trey McNutt of Cleveland, Ohio. Wilson is hardly the only Oregon commit who intends to visit other schools this fall. McNutt has indicated his intention to visit Ohio State during the season. As the early signing period begins on December 4, Lanning and his team will need to work hard to keep their outstanding recruiting class together.
