BREAKING: University of Miami’s 2025 Recruiting Class, Top Senior Performances and Commit Updates

The University of Miami is following up on a great recruiting year with a standout 2025 class that is presently ranked ninth by Rivals, tenth by On3, and eleventh by 247 Sports. The Head coach Mario Cristobal has assembled a formidable roster of excellent defensive seniors and impactful offensive players.
Here’s how Miami’s commits are performing in their senior seasons.
Bryce Fitzgerald, Columbus S
Ranking: No. 50 in the USA Today. Florida Top 100 Measurables: 6-1, 175.
Fitzgerald, a ballhawk who had ten interceptions last season, selected Miami over Florida, Florida State, and USC. He helped his team win 17-14 over Southridge in their quest for a second state championship.
Luke Nickel, Milton (Ga.) Quarterback
Ranking: Composite four-star, top-20 quarterback nationally.
Measurables: 6-2,205

Hylton ‘Drake’ Stubbs, Mandarin ATH, led Milton to a 37-28 victory over American Heritage-Plantation by tossing for 249 yards, two touchdowns, and catching a touchdown pass in a play called “The U.”

Measurables: 6-1,175
Performance: Stubbs selected Miami over LSU and Florida State and is anticipated to have a huge impact this season at Westgate.
Seuseu ‘SJ’ Alofaituli, Bishop Gorman IOL.

Ranking: Composite four-star, top five IOL nationally.
Measurables: 6-1,280.
Alofaituli, a MaxPreps First Team All-American, did not participate in Bishop Gorman’s recent victory over St. Thomas Aquinas.
Elijah Melendez, Osceola LB.

Ranking: No. 44 in USA Today. Florida Top 100 Measurables: 6-2,225
Melendez, a long-time Miami recruit, made six tackles in a 21-7 victory over Treasure Coast.

Gavin Nix, IMG LB.
Ranking: No. 27 in USA Today. Florida Top 100
Measurables: 6-0,225.
Performance: Nix had 42 tackles, seven for loss, and a sack last season, but IMG lost its first game this year, 35-34 against Corner Canyon.
Girard Pringle, Armwood RB.

Ranking: No. 26 in USA Today. Florida Top 100
Measurables: 5–10, 185
Pringle ran for more over 100 yards and two touchdowns in a 51-20 preseason victory over Miami Norland.
Chris Ewald, Chaminade Madonna CB

Ranking: No. 24 in USA Today. Florida Top 100
Measurables: 6-0; 160
Ewald recorded six tackles and one pass breakup in a 24-27 loss against St. John Bosco.
Brock Schott, Leo (Indiana) ATH

Ranking: Composite four-star, top-10 tight end nationwide.
Measurables: 6–3 215
Schott had four tackles for loss and four sacks on defense in a 20-17 victory. He also caught three passes.
Max Buchanan, Seminole IOL.

Ranking: No. 22 in USA Today. Florida Top 100 Measurables: 6-4, 275.
Buchanan, who chose Miami over several elite programs, played an important role in the Seminoles’ offense, despite the fact that their Week 1 game was canceled.
Luka Gilbert, Lakota West (Ohio) TE.

Ranking: Composite four-star, top-25 tight end nationwide.
Measurables: 6-7; 233
Gilbert helped to Lakota West’s 17-14 victory over St. Xavier with his remarkable catch radius and blocking ability.
Amari Wallace, Miami Central cornerback

Ranking: No. 43 in USA Today. Florida Top 100 Measurables: 5-11 (170)
Wallace’s team lost 16-8 to Lakeland in a closely contested game.

Ezekiel Marcelin, Miami Central linebacker
Positioning: No. 55 in the US. Today Top 100 Measurables: 6-0 and 190
Marcelin contributed significantly to Miami Central’s 16-8 loss over Lakeland.
Herbert Scroggins III, Benedictine Military School (Georgia)

Ranking: Composite four-star, top-35 EDGE nationwide.
Measurables: 6-2,235.
Scroggins is aiming for a third consecutive state championship, despite having lost two games to begin the season.
Daylyn Upshaw, Central (Alabama) WR

Ranking: Composite four-star, top-85 wide receiver nationwide.
Measurables: 6-0; 180
Upshaw scored three touchdowns and gained 156 yards in a 61-14 victory despite just playing the first half.
Timothy Merritt, Parker (Alabama) CB
Positioning: Composite three-star, top-25 in Alabama.
Measurables: 6-2,180
Merritt made five tackles in a 41-12 victory.

Donta Simpson, Chaminade Madonna DL

Ranking: Composite three-star, No. 76 defensive lineman nationwide.
Measurables: 6–6, 280
Simpson recorded four tackles in the 34-27 loss to St. John Bosco.
Mykah Newton, Newberry Edge.

Ranking: Composite three-star, No.92 EDGE nationwide.
Measurables: 6-2,255.
Newton helped to a 44-27 victory over University. Christian.
Demetrius Campbell, Orlando Christian Prep OT

Ranking: Composite three-star, No. 72 OT nationwide.
Measurables: 6–6, 300
Campbell’s team fell 42-16 to Beachside.
Takaylen Meux & Duncan Fletcher IOL

Ranking: Composite three-star, No. 78 IOL nationwide.
Measurables: 6-4,340.
Meux played a vital role in the 42-0 victory over Ribault.
Jaden Wilkerson, Edgewater OT.

Ranking: Composite three-star, 102 OT nationwide.
Measurables: 6–6, 330
Edgewater’s game with Wekiva was canceled.

Decommitments:

Waden Charles, WR: The four-star receiver decommitted in May before committing to UCF.
Lamar Williams, offensive lineman: The three-star tackle decommitted from Miami in May and eventually committed to Maryland.
This class is shaping up to be one of the most significant for Miami, with a varied mix of players generating headlines across the country.
