Man United forward Antony is ‘cleared of violence and abusing his ex-girlfriend in Brazil’ after a protracted inquiry

Based on reports, Brazilian authorities have acquitted Manchester United’s winger of domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend. Antony, 24, was charged by his former partner Gabriela Cavallin of violating, assaulting, and threatening her, leading the Sao Paulo police department to investigate. However, more than a year after a complaint was filed, the police discovered inadequate proof of Antony’s crime and closed their investigation, according to Globo.com. Cavallin, a DJ, made her charges public in May 2023, when she appeared on Brazilian channel TV Record, alleging that she had been abused by Antony the previous year. ‘He threw water on me, kicked me, grabbed my hair, butted my head, and a cut,’ Cavallin saidHe grabbed both of my arms, threw me onto the bed, and then fell on top of me. At that point, my silicone prosthesis dislocated. At the time, I had such shortness of breath that I thought I was going to die. Cavallin also alleged that Antony had made her a prisoner in their home and would not let her leave. He destroyed my baggage, stole my handbag, and my passport.

He broke my phone and refused to let me leave,’ Cavallin added. ‘I was a prisoner from 10 p.m. to about 3.30 a.m. I call it private confinement. I just wanted to get out of there, but he said I couldn’t leave until I wiped everything. ‘I believe his mother called his physiotherapist and requested assistance. “No one could control it.

Antony responded to the allegations by denying any wrongdoing, writing on Instagram: “For you, after submitting my statement at the police station where the investigation involving my name is being conducted, I wanted to speak publicly for the first time since I was falsely accused of assault.” I remained mute till this moment So that nothing could interfere with the investigation, but my family and I endured in silence for all of these days.
