Bowen, who has been with the club for four-and-a-half years, expressed his delight in becoming identified as captain. “It’s four and a half years since I joined this club he mentioned, but it’s felt so much a while the pleasure of playing for this Club and the relationships I’ve had alongside all the sets of players we’ve possessed, the leadership we’ve had, and the supporters.
What we’ve accomplished on the field, and what I’ve achieved outside of it. To get to this stage is another expression of my love for this Club, in addition to signing my new contract last year. I said at that moment that I wanted to stay here for the rest of my life, and I haven’t changed my mind. If I can be acknowledged as a legend here in years to come, that would be wonderful.
Bowen takes a look at former outstanding leaders who carried the armband and intends to be motivated by Mr West Ham Mark Noble, who recently became Sporting Director, and is excited to carry on Noble’s heritage and principles in the role.
As a captain you’re expected to be the best person for the lads, be a leader and almost be an example to them in terms of what you expect in expectations every day,” says Bowen. “For me, Nobes was one of the best, and he did it in a manner that was respectful. The guys listened to him and moved on.”
The West Ham Way would like to congratulate Jarrod congratulations on the position, and want Best wishes for his success.
